Who We are.
Auvera Health is a Nashville-based surgical prior authorization company working exclusively with orthopedic and spine practices across Tennessee and beyond. We manage the complete prior authorization process — from documentation review through payer decision — so your clinical team can focus on patient care instead of payer portals.
We founded Auvera Health because orthopedic and spine practices were losing significant revenue and administrative time to prior authorization denials that were entirely preventable. The documentation was fixable. The payer requirements were knowable. No dedicated service existed that combined that clinical intelligence with the operational infrastructure to manage it consistently.
Prior authorization is the only thing we do.
Prior authorization is a full-time clinical intelligence function, and most practices are managing it as a part-time administrative task. Auvera Health was founded to solve that specific problem. We built every checklist, every payer workflow, and every denial response around surgical PA for orthopedic and spine practices — not as one service among many, but as the only problem we solve.
Why we exist.
Our Process
Review before Submission
Before any case touches a payer portal, we run it through a payer-specific documentation checklist. Every clinical note, imaging report, and physical therapy record is reviewed against the exact criteria each payer uses to approve or deny surgical cases. Documentation gaps are identified and corrected before submission — not after a denial. This pre-submission review is the step that prevents the denial before it happens.
Decision from us first
The moment a decision is received — approval or denial — your team hears from us first. Approved cases include the authorization number, effective date, and expiration date. Denied cases include a plain-language explanation and the next action already in progress. You never learn about a case outcome from the payer before hearing from Auvera Health.
Every Monday morning a complete case status report lands in your inbox. Every active case. Every pending decision. Every approved authorization. No status calls to payers. No chasing decisions.
Data from every case
Every denial we receive is logged, categorized, and added to our proprietary denial pattern library — organized by payer, procedure, and the specific documentation gap that caused the denial. That intelligence feeds directly into how the next case is submitted. The library gets more valuable with every case. Over time, the patterns we identify allow us to flag the highest-risk submissions before they reach the portal and correct them before the payer ever sees them.
